Have you tried an açaí bowl yet? It’s a great take on your traditional yogurt with granola, or bowl of cereal. If you’re trying to cut back on dairy, or just be a little healthier in the new year, this is a yummy meal to add to your repertoire.
How do you put an açaí bowl together? All you need to do is just make a thick smoothie with an açaí packet and top it with granola, seasonal fruits, or whatever else you want, and enjoy! Pretty simple.
You can get açaí purée packets at Trader Joe’s, Sprouts, or Whole Foods. Açaí is full of antioxidants, which are great to load up on during cold and flu season, to help keep potential sickness at bay. If you don’t have an açaí pack to add to your smoothie, you can still try this recipe with any kind of regular smoothie (just remember to make it thick!). The possibilities are endless.
I usually blend my pack up with a banana, spinach, frozen organic berries, lecithin, bee pollen, vanilla (or peanut butter) protein powder, and coconut milk. I like to top the smoothie with chia seeds, almonds, fresh berries, granola, and sometimes a little coconut. It is a delicious and healthy way to start the day!
