Holiday Makeup Tutorials

Holiday Makeup Tutorials

One of the things I love about the holiday season is getting the opportunity to dress up and to get fancy with my makeup. Here are some holiday makeup tutorials to inspire you for your next party look!

I have loved makeup ever since I was allowed to start wearing it (okay probably before too). Back when I was in high school, and undergrad, I loved having fun with colorful eyeshadow, creating different looks based on the occasion, and based on what I was wearing. These days I mostly stick to a neutral look with makeup, but I love this time of year, when I have an excuse to get festive and do something out of the ordinary. It might just be a bold red lip, or smokey eyes, but it is fun to mix things up!

Here are some Makeup Tutorials from my favorite makeup YouTuber,  Ali Andreea, to inspire your next look!

SHIP’S TIPS:

Eyebrows frame your whole face. Make sure you always fill in your brows with a little eyebrow powder and also highlight your arch! Benefit’s High Brow Highlight and Lift pencil is a go to for me every day. It looks so natural, and brightens up tired eyes.

If you want a bold and smoky eye, don’t forget to use your eye primer, because it really makes your eyeshadow colors pop (and stay all night!)! I’ve used Urban Decay’s Primer Potion since high school, and still love it. While you’re at it, if you’re wanting your whole face to last all night, make sure to use a face primer too! I don’t use a primer for makeup every day, but I do for special occasions and holiday parties. My favorite face primers are by Too Faced.

If you’re wanting to feel a little more glamorous without going overboard with color, do some contouring on your face! Contouring helps define your features, and can make your face appear slimmer in all those pictures you’re going to take and post to social later on. My favorite contour palette is by Anastasia of Beverly Hills (and it has lasted me over two years now!).

To keep your lipstick from feathering, and to avoid having to buy multiple lip liners for each lip stick color you have, get a colorless UNIVERSAL LIP LINER!
