DIY Bath Bombs

An easy, natural recipe for bath bombs to DIY instead of spending a fortune at the store.
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 10 minutes
Resting Time 1 day
Servings 8

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Bath Bomb Molds
  • Whisk
  • Measuring Cups
  • Spray Bottle w. Water (optional)

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups Baking Soda
  • 1.5 Cups Citric Acid
  • 1.5 Cups Epsom Salts
  • 8 TBSP Coconut Oil
  • 1 TBSP Essential Oil
  • Extra Water to Spray (if mixture seems too dry)

Instructions

  • Get out all your ingredients and measure things out.
  • Mix dry ingredients in mixing bowl and whisk together to mix, and to break apart any lumps that might be in your dry ingredients.
  • Melt coconut oil (if not using a liquid version) and measure out.
  • Add 1 TBSP of essential oil to coconut oil (you can use less if you desire, but I like mine to be very fragrant).
  • Slowly add wet ingredients to dry ingredients a little at a time, mixing as you go. Your mixture should resemble damp sand.
  • If your mix seems to dry, you can spray a little bit of water into the mix, but be careful because you don’t want your bowl to start fizzing, or your mix to get too wet, or your bombs won’t dry nicely.
  • Pack mix into your mold halves (slightly overflowing so they will stick together easily), and then press two halves together firmly.
  • Let molds set for about 15 minutes before removing mold from bomb.
  • Let bombs dry completely for at least a day before wrapping in plastic wrap.
  • Share with your friends, or enjoy for yourself! Cheers!
